Hello everyone! Today I thought I would share with you what I made for the Therm-o-web booth at the Quilt Market that is going on now in Portland, Oregon... wish I were there. First up is a dish towel...

I used a Small Dresden Plate die from Sizzix to make the flower. I just trimmed each blade down to fit the size of flower I was wanting and appliqued each petal onto my towel with some HeatnBond Lite.

I then used some SpraynBond Fusible Adhesive Spray to adhere a vintage doily down in the center of my flower as well as a circle in the middle of the doily.

Lots of ruffles and lace to complete the bottom of the towel. Next, is an apron... I used a pattern from this book. 

I again used my SpraynBond Fusible Adhesive and to put the flower doily down and then used some HeatnBond Lite to add the leaves and "made with love" label.

The gorgeous fabric is by the one and only Pat Sloan! I remember when I was putting these projects together how rainy it was but, the fabrics made it bright and cheery inside.

"Mom" mini album tutorial...

Bookmarks...

Hello everyone! Needing some more Mother's Day ideas? How about these...

They are made using the Sizzix Bookmark die. They could be used as bookmarks or tags and are very simple to make. Once again, I have made a few to give you some ideas but I will walk you thru making just one bookmark. You can find the paper that I used HERE... they are called pink sugar tags, mmmm.

Start by die cutting from paper the bookmark. Trim a coordinating piece of paper to fit in the middle of the bookmark and set aside.

Die cut the heart from the Thinlits Love Story set from felt and machine stitch around the heart if desired. Die cut a flower from the Flowers, Rose 3-D, assemble and adhere to the middle of the heart.

Die cut the small circle from the Tiny Tabs & Tags die and adhere it to the top left corner of the piece of paper going in the middle of bookmark, add a tiny staple to the center of the tab. Using the Thinlits Doily & Border #2 set, die cut from paper and trim to fit the bottom of the piece going in the middle of the bookmark (see the photo above... it takes about three scalloped pieces.), adhere to the bottom of the paper piece, machine stitch around the square if desired.

Now adhere the paper piece in the middle of the bookmark. Adhere a piece of lace at the bottom,. Wrap a piece of jute string thru the rhinestone circle and bookmark, add a word sticker, tie a bow at the top of the bookmark and a metal embellishment in the middle of the bow.

One shabby little card...

Hello everyone! Today, I have one little shabby card for you. Mother's Day is just around the corner and I love to make special cards for the occasion. I have given my mother more than just one card on Mother's Day because I love to let her know just how special she is to me.

The beautiful ledger paper is from HERE and the washi tape is from Glitz Design as well as the rose circle die cut.

The felt heart is die cut using the Primitive Hearts die by Sizzix along with the pretty green border from   the Thinlits, Doily & Border #2 die set.

The resin heart embellishment is from Prima and the sentiment by Papertrey Ink.

Baby quilt & bib...

Hello friends... tonight I have a couple of fabric projects up on the blog. I used one little Sizzix die to make this chevron baby quilt.

Using the 5" Square Die, I cut 25 squares from white fabric and 25 squares from different prints of fabric (I used Marmalade from Moda with a couple of other moda fabrics thrown in). Draw a diagonal line on all 25 white squares. Lay a white square on top of each printed square, right sides together. Stitch 1/4" on each side of the diagonal line and then cut down the center of each square (the pencil line). Sew four blocks together (two on the top and two on the bottom) making a chevron pattern to make one square block until you have a total of 25 blocks.

Stitch the blocks together 5 rows across and 5 rows down. Layer your quilt top, batting and backing and machine quilt. I simply did straight lines echoing the chevron pattern.

The repeating of the lines get boring after a bit but, I really like the looks of it after it is all done.

Attach your binding and it is as simple as that!

For the bib, I used Camille Roskelley's Charming Bibs Pattern and cut my 5" squares out with the 5" Square Die... so easy and fast if you don't have charm packs on hand.

I wanted to add something in the middle of the bib so I used the heart from the Heart, Stem & Leaves die. I attached the heart with some Heat n Bond and then machined stitched around the heart about an 1/8" away from the edge. 

We have some friends expecting a baby girl soon. I hope they enjoy receiving this gift as much as I enjoyed making them. I'm telling you....  easy peasy!
